So I was filling out my vehicle profile this morning and went to read the odometer, which has left me even more confused than when I started.

The odo says 194,000 odd kays and for the life of me I just cant believe that a 37 year old car has done so few kays, I mean, Ive got a 2002 Falcon that's rounding up on 250,000.

But at the same time, this old bucket of money-sucking misery is in WAY too good condition to have had the odo go around the clock to rack up 1.1 million kays..

Is it possible that the guy I bought it off was telling the truth and he bought it off the original owners, a little old retired couple who only drove it to church on sundays.

Is it possible. ??

I,d say the klms would be correct for your torana,it would have fallen apart if it had been around the clock.

Thats still 5243km a year average.

Which is about what I drive on average a year.

Cheers.

There would be more Torana,s with less km on the odo than that
hell there is an A9X here in W.A. with 205 km on the clock

When my Dad bought what is now my current Torana in 1999 it had 96,000km and I put on another 16,000km approx until now although it spent many Yeats and still is off the road

I also had a 1979 Kawasaki 400 which is now on it's 3rd owner and still just under 10,000 miles

Your km,s seem easily possible to me

Seriously, don't you blokes drive your cars?

My LH went on the road in Arpril 2011, and I have done 40,200 til now. = about 10,000 a year.

The daily drive does round 40,000 a year, and I have a  Mazda 626 Club car (3000 last 12 months) and my old Nissan huntin/fishin/firewood getter, 3000 last year.

Thats round 55,000 in 12 months.

Actually when I worked that out, it surprised  me a bit.

                                   regards,Rod.

The four door (originally a 4 cylinder car) only has 82,000km on the clock. Hatch is getting very close to rolling over 400,000km although there probably aren't many parts other than the speedo that have travelled the whole distance...

Lol @ the speedo..kinda like the 200 year old axe I inherited from Grandad, only ever had to repair it three times, 2 handles and a head. :P

Yeah it's possible, if they only drove to church on Sundays it wouldn't have done half that much.

Also, it may not be the original speedo.
