I just purchased a Supra 5sp box that suits holden 6
It comes with a yoke
What needs to be done? get tail shaft cut down?
my tail shaft has all new uni's so it would be nice to be able to use that one.
will the yoke go straight onto my shaft
Anyone know?
all replys appreciated

sounds too good to be tru
i have heard with a celica box, if u use a lj tailshaft it will be short enough to fit in.

There are two different types of supra yokes that I know of one takes a bigger Uni than the other. Im using a cut down 3 inch shaft out of a statesman which runs the larger V8 Uni's, But I think (Don't Quote Me) that you can use your uni that is on the shaft at the moment and swap the yoke over, if it's the yoke to take the smaller uni.... Can anyone confirm this?

I can confirm that the STD holden V8 uni fit's one of the Supra yokes, as i have done this to mine i'm just not sure which supra yoke it is.

ahh ok
well i dont have a supra yoke now as the dude couldnt find it.
So if i got a V8 tailshaft with v8 unis, and a V8 diff yoke. and a supra uni Large style it will be sweet?
Will i need to cut the tail shaft down?
and one other thing, will the small supra yoke style suit a 6cy uni?
cheers!

If you are lucky enough to get a dellow yoke to suit the supra box then it should fit the holden uni's...not sure about the length though. You will need to get some calipers and measure the bearing cup size and spacing to say definitively what you have since it is S/h.
If it is a supra yoke, these use a different universal to the holdens which comes in 2 sizes but they both fit the same actual supra yoke....pretty tricky really.
The standard uni is RUJ2100 and the heavy duty one is RUJ2109R.
I would recommend the 2109R in Hardy spicer brand but last time I tried to get them they were on backorder so I tried a different brand US made one and it is still going strong 2 years later.

hmmm so i buy a slip yoke from dellow or castlemine to suit supra box and holden 6 uni's
recon they can make it extra thick so i dont have to shorten tailshaft?
it is kinda triky lol, im trying to work out the cheapest option

m20 = exacly 66cm long
Supra = exacly 68cm long
thats 2cm out, would that cause any problems? i think it might squeezz.
I guess it all depends on how the supra yokes are fabricated.
any one know wat there yokes are like?

A common tailshaft i used years ago with 6cyl LH/X/UC toranas was to use the RT104 Toyota Corona slip yoke that uses the RUJ1786 (australian) uni joint, & used a GH sigma sedan tailshaft (RUJ1786 U/J) (or an XP falcon sedan) which was 5/8ths inch (16mm) shorter than a LH tailshaft.
With the V8 tailshafts i used the CRS extended yoke on the moderate HP cars, that way the standard tailshaft could be used with the RUJ2030 U/J,
For the big HP cars i used the yoke that was a 1 piece & then modded a tailshaft to suit, as most of them had 9" diffs any way.
