G'day All

The drive on the way home started out OK but I had a strange suspicion that some one was following me  :wtf:

Bit hard to detect a Mandarin Red SL/R 5000 in all of that Pennant Hills Road (bloody) traffic, but i'm no fool

So I called up a mate (TBM) in Katoomba and we laid a trap for him and lured him to the old Catalinia Race Circuit where we blocked off his exit

Bruce & I need not have worried as it was only Laurie from Tassie who got so lost on his way home and decided to follow me  :wtf:

Any way he makes a good starter for our lap of Catalina although he should have held a flag in his hand

First part of the lap is a straight and then up a hill BUGGA, not real good at my age

After a bit of huffin' and puffin', we reached the top of that hill  :clappin:

So proud to make it over that mountainish hill, just had to get a few photos in  :spoton:

After much more huffin' and puffin' we came across the entrance to the Pit area

So of course you have to pull in for a "pit stop"

Finally the finish line was in sight and we raced (limped) back

Not sure on who won that race as the parked cars were just over the fence and we made a quick exit after thanking Bruce

for showing us around the old Catalina Race Track  :spoton:

Last post is Bathurs and home, well for me any way

Barry

Every time I see pics of that circuit I just want to go for a fang around it.

It looks like a lot of fun!

Wow!

Just looked up some old footage. Unforgiving but lots of fun.

Its a pity these tracks are disappearing...

that track is a sorely missed thing. Right in the centre of Katoomba.

I ran a mates Group C Xu1 (with slicks) on it around there back in the mid / late 80's...it was unreal, but sketchy.

Middle of winter and the fog was so thick that they wouldnt start the meeting untill appx 11.30am!! when we could actually see anything.

I think it was a Jaguar Car Club of NSW? meeting.

Regardless, some nice history there Baz, thanks for the pics.
