It's been 9 years since I pulled my car apart and I cannot remember how the dash cluster is fixed in. The top two screws are simple but I cannot see how the bottom two screws should go. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Ben

You will need to find two of the clips pictured below. They slide into recesses on the dash panel right behind where the 2 bottom screws go through.

Cheers

Hi guys.

Out of curiosity, would those 2 clips enable you to fit an LJ dash to an LC Torana, or do the clips not fit the LC so the 2 bottom holes on the LJ dash would just be empty and unsecured?

Are the clips available from anywhere like rare spares, etc?

Cheers,
Dave.

The two clips can be fitted to the LJ cluster to make it fit into an LC.

The LJ cluster will still have the two empty holes at the bottom, but you can put dummy screws with nuts in there.

The clips are simple enough to make them yourself.

I'm not familiar with where the screws go but this might help?

I'm a huge fan or nutserts/rivet-nuts.  I cannot remember where I got them from?  Either bursons or it might have even been bunnings/masters?

I used this method last time to re-do some stripped threads for a grille-

Chris, these clips are for the LJ instrument cluster not the LC.

LC lower mounting brackets can be fitted to an LJ dash to install it into an LC and as you correctly say, the lower screw holes in the LJ instrument fascia will be empty so some dummy screws could be installed.

Sorry, when I said clips, I meant the two looped brackets that are on the bottom of the LC cluster.

Then again, you can just install the LJ clips and mount it correctly.

Prob easier to find original LC brackets than the clips for the LJ.:)

Hi guys.

Just a question about doing the opposite of what was discussed above - If wanting to fit an LC GTR dash (complete with the 2 loop brackets at the rear) into an LJ is there something on the LJ dash panel for the looped retaining clips on the LC dash to attach to? Or do LJ Toranas not have this part / feature as the LJ dash's have retaining screws instead of the looped brackets?

Cheers.
