I think this is the spot to post this but have rare spares looked at there Lc gtr center console......from what I have seen its nothing like the original. Was wondering if they could look at this as its no where near were it should be. I've purchased one from them and I'm just a bit disappointed as all the other things I've bought have been pretty spot on

hmm....just had a look at the Rares web pics.....gotta be honest, I always thought that the LC GTR did not have the little badge that shows the shift pattern...thought that was limited to LJ models??...as the LCs had the shift pattern on the actual gear knob.

That's true too about the shift pattern. But it's the texture/grain that is way off.

The shift pattern badge could be improved.

LC console was covered in a sort of long grain type vinyl, rather than being moulded plastic like LJ's. I suspect the cost of reproducing that is excessive.

certain dash specialist would be able to vacuum the vinyl to console.probably why rares dont do it.just recently a dude on gaybay also member on here was saying  the shifter surround on rares is plastic compared to original metal surround?

That's understandable as they try to keep the cost down. I have no problem with the plate and strip being plastic as to look at it its very close. But the pattern is not near correct for it to be similar to the factory one.
