INFO REQUIRED PLEASE. My 4 speed gear box whines in 1st 2nd and 3rd, would the gear box need a complete overhaul ? or do they all whine ? Is it an aussie Box or a Vauxhall Viva ?

Yes, it needs an overhaul, replace the bearings at least anyway.
The entire drivetrain is Vauxhall, no Aussie bits.

thanks for the quick replies, I have a spare box, however I don't know its condition, may as well just do up the one in it. It's coupled to a 1300 motor, I guess the 4's all use the same gear box ?

All the 1200 & 1300 4-sp manual boxes are interchangeable, but the ratios were revised once or twice over the years.
