After seeing this sign on the back wall of the ex-Ford, ex-HDT workshop slowly deteriorate l finally got around to snapping a photo.  The sign is visible from the train just on the Melbourne side of Auburn Railway Station.

Harry Firth added to the rear of the building after the Cortina GT500 program circa 1966 and l'm guessing the sign was painted at that time. He can't have thought it important or necessary to remove it after the swap to Holden and HDT in 1969.

Thanks Rodomo, l had seen that photo in another post but couldn't find it again.

Looks like the photo out the front is from 1972 with Brocks Bathurst winning car ignoring the no parking sign.

Taken this week, Firth Motors building just sold well north of $3,000,000.

Hopefully not for the wrecking ball but apartment development is swallowing up neighbouring premises.

He must have owned the next roller door along as well. You can see the L34 being driven out of there in the Manchamp video.
