Umfortunatley there is one member that will be stroking his possum cos thats his thing....

He just cant comment in here cos he runs a 6 so these 1/4 mile times are his 60ft :stirpot:

You are spot on Paul but it ain't bomber.

It could easilly be me, mine still hasnt done a proper run at the 1/4.... Im only commenting with things I have seen on other cars i've worked on or had a lot to do with, and general things i've picked up spending every  chance I can get at the strip a few years ago.... Ta for the vote though Daz :D

I could only find a handful of time slips but the one i did find that was decent was per the below

60 - 1.966

half track - 7.654

mph - 98

et - 11.445

mph - 134.5

I dont care what experience anyone has or what there stroking, that MPH is riciculous for that ET. MPH at half track is still ridiculous, so whatevers going wrong its going wrong within the 330' IMO.

The .060" is pretty shit, but its an IRS car so you will have big issues getting it to 60'. I have some mates who had low 10 second jap rockets with similar rear ends, they actually dialed in positive rear camber static, so when the rear squatted the tyres squared up, perhaps mount a gopro to the back door facing the rear tyre so you can see what its doing while your launching/the first 330' or so and see if this may help you?

I know on my Mini atleast having a gopro facing towards the rear guards so I can watch what the back tyres doing during a run (totally different discipine, but meh) helped a lot when I was tweaking the rear suspension.... Have the car a LOT more settled under throttle sliding out of a corner now and without the footage would have been stabbing in the dark with a spoon for someone with my very limited knowlege of chassis setup to be blunt.

Cheers.

Have to agree with DJ. I have seen numerous cars leave the line like a grandma but still get a 10.40 @ 135 or more. But like every turbo car out there they have huge top end. Once they sort their launch its hello 9's.

You need to sort the first half out cos that MPH is frOcking insane!

You can see at about 1/4 track where it starts to really move.

LOL, how many gears has that thing got?

Reminds me of the Bullitt movie with the Mustang. McQueen works through about 20 gears!

it gets into 5th gear.

It runs a 255/50/16 ET Street drag radial and has a set of 4.9 diff gears in it. Being IRS means easy diff changes so the other diff runs 4.11's and I barely see the top end of 3rd with that diff in it.

I need to try some other gearbox oil as the gear set that's in it struggles with high rpm shifts for some reason. The rev limit in it at the moment is 8500 but it wont change gears properly at that rpm. Shifting at 7000prm ends up with smooth gear changes but I think I suffer a tad due to the extra gear change I need to make. It used to have a 9500rpm limit in it but I don't like working the engine that hard

With a 1.5 60 foot I predict you would be running about 10.5

so by my reckoning you are still loosing acceleration somewhere...

What is your shift technique? Do you run a limiter? If you run a limiter flat changing should help, especially if a little boost is bled off

Brad. Im no expert but watching that video I think your 60ft times are down due to wheels spin. Combine that with all them gear changes you not where you should be at half track. All the hp and torque is getting you that insane mph with the huge top end charge.

On another note
I constantly read posts about how the mighty Holden red 6's are fast. And I mean ALL the time. Seems most threads have a reference stati g throw the v8 and install a red 6. Probably in excess of 15000 times. :wtf:

Just so happens I was at the track tonight and watched a XU1 (had fluted guards, stickers and boot spoiler so had to be real) run 15.50 @ 80 something mph

On what frOcking plantet is that fast?

:P

Not saying you wouldnt. I would however like you to prove it. Until then frOck up :P

Every one thinks they have a fast car until the line it up against something . Ive been guilty of it myself with previous car and lost a few races. That said none were against the mighty red 6 I so often read about.

Ok. 10 cartons it is.

You "blitz" 15.6 sec quarter and get under 13.6. Yes a while 2 seconds.

You win.

Any less, you lose.

You have 28 days to produce a slip witnessed by someone impartial ;)
