Hi guys
She did a dyno run yesterday with fuel dramas(running lean at the top end) tuning issue we assume , result was 197hp atw (147kw) 445nm @ 5400rpm . A/r was to high past that rpm , I'm running 0a7 atm but may have to try some others.. Rev limiter is set at 7000 but we didn't make it there, Mabe next time

Yeah mate it's not bad, I'm hoping for 220+ hp atw, the engine has only just clicked over 1300kms , I'd say there's a long road ahead haha

Hey seen your car on Friday morning in rocky, parked near the pie van on Gladstone road with a couple of EH utes. That colour jumps out, looks great. Couldn't stop and chat was on a quick trip up and back.

Nah still broken , I've Gota call ice again today unfortunately
In 5k kms it's done

3coils
3 dizzy caps
Ignition box broke 3 times now

This drive it lasted 1 hr b4 it shut down , it's becoming very repetitive sending the kit back to him every 2 wks

not major but run two set ups on both cars.

we took the so called " booster " of the race car as it was doing weird stuff and was not doing the boosting it claimed.

both of these are the old school bosch.

get a bosch - send it to scorcher ignition with the following;

comp

cam specs

head details

and what you want it for.

then just present 12 #olts to the coil  and you will feel a lot better. just keep it simple on these engines.

the dizzy rebuilds and ser#ices are cheap

Heard of few holden v8's swap out their ice setups to go crane or even make do with locked dissy/hei coil after they gave up chasing issues.

+1 for scorcher...

I had them rebuild my HEI. A great job and not much money really. I was going to do it myself but couldnt get the parts like a new chopper plate etc so just sent it to scorcher.

I agree that these engines do not really need much fancy stuff (even though I run it all).

Good luck mate, regards

I am running a booster also... I'm keen to do a comparison on the dyno ice & msd back to back nothing else changed

Hi guys long time no post , it's been a bumpy road with the car but slowly getting there , in the end we got 213hp atw using the 1 3/4 Su carbs , tune was abit off but after buying 7 different sets of needles I decided it was time to get some new carbs ,
I've decided on the mikuni Hsr carbs should have them fitted within afew wks than back on the dyno for tuning , than power run.. Should mate for a interesting comparison

Are the throttle linkages similar to the SUs?

On my set the throttle shafts have been extended and therefore are all connected, with shaft clamps, with a 8mm(from memory) shaft. The cable attachment bracket attaches to the shaft. I made a throttle cable sheath mounting bracket that bolts onto the manifold

Super simple if you have a cable throttle.
