what do you use as paking under the middle beam where interior light goes and the roof ? i dont remember what was there and now i just have cardboard ?

There probably wasn't anything there to start with but if there was it may have been some blobs of that bituminous sound deadener they have sprayed on the underside of the roof panel.
Squeeze some Sikaflex in there should do the job.
