Hi All,

I'm at the 'parts acquisition' phase of my complete LH restomod project. I've used wilwood brakes in the past on other project cars with huge success and really like the product. I want to put Wilwoods on all 4 corners of the LH and have been trying to buy the 320mm kit advertised as 'in stock' on the Castlemaine Rod Shop website. I also want to change the rear end to the Ford 9" with wilwoods that they advertise too! .. so that's about a $6.5K  order.. 'Wilwood missed the shipping date casue they're a bunch of old woman'. I've offered to pay in advance, and asked if they can just let me know when everything is in stock, reply -  'At this moment we are completely drained of wildwood kits. Nil stock'.

I have plenty of time, but if they are not going to supply these kits again, I would like to know so I can source from elsewhere ... What are peoples take on this ? - Should I just be patient with them ? anyone dealt with them in the past ??

Cheers

Why not send an email directly to Wilwood? Perhaps they can put a kit together for you.

Do you know the individual parts in the kit? Maybe buy them separate direct from the US?

I tried to deal with Wilwood Direct ....there left me hanging on the phone for over 30min never again
I did have a contact in the state which was a brake shop I will see if I can dig up the contacts details for you
what ever way you go you will have to nut it out for your self as they don't do kits for Aussie cars

Have you tried speaking with Hoppers Stoppers in Melbourne.  They do a lot of different kits and conversions of Aussie and US cars and I've always found them really helpful.  Cheers Ron

Wilwood don't generally deal with the public

They probably won't take your money because of the aussie dollar and they don't want to lock in a price that will cost them

Rear kits are easy off the shelf... cept for the rotor pattern as 9" is the yankie staple diet

Front kit is likely Camaro based... depending on your stubs and stud pattern

I am sure Rocket in Sydney would do them as well.

Just finished my set up.. I got the Wilwood Dynapro kit that suits '72-'74 Nova (HQ 11" kit that sells here).

Made up the caliper brackets & a couple other mods to suit my 15" V5 Simmons. My 14" Hotwires will fit on with plenty of clearance as well.

I also made up bracketss to suit Torana stubs & steering arms.

Top pic is HX stub & Harrop steering arm.

Pic with moded dust cover is Torana stub & LX steering arm.

3rd pic is final assembly using the HX & Harrop set up.

The last 2 pics are mocked up with the V5 Simmons. Clearing the the band ring nuts which was a challenge! lol

Cheers
