Dear Torana friends,

i got a offer to buy a T5 gearbox used.

Its  a Borg Warner / Tremec 5. Gears Part # 1352 247 >  96' V6 Chevy Camaro / Pontiac Firebird 1996

I wonder if this would fit into my v8.

Not very strong, think they were only rated to like 230 lb ft of torque. So not going to hold up very well to any sort of V8   (plus you'd need to find a bellhousing of course to suit)

You would probably have to change the input shaft length also.

Hi Uwe
I've just been through all this for my project. You want to make sure it's a World Class Borg Warner/Tremec as they can handle up to 300ft/lb of torque (still no TKO). Then change the input shaft to 167mm from a flacon and get a bell housing to suit. If you dont want to cut your floor to get the shifter through youll have to put on an 80's Ford Mustang rear gearbox extension and get a shorter shifter rod. Things should fit from there.

I'm thinking to use a Super T-10 gearbox.  It's more easy to get in Germany.
