What is the general consensus regarding the best headers/extractors for the 308 on an LH? There are so many different companies who make them OTS, but with all things there is the good and the cr@p ....

If you have a hydraulic slave cylinder you have to be careful that the extractors clear it.

I think Pacemaker and Genie are the most popular.

I have Pacemakers but only test fitted at present.  Only potential issue I see is with the starter motor but I don't intend on using original so will source one that fits.  Cheers Ron

Early or late heads?
Pretty much everything I've ever had on an early he added car has fit fine. Plenty of room around starter.
The 1.75 primary Tri y pipes for VN heads from CAE fit very well.

What are the HM headers L34 type like performance vise compared to the pacemaker or genie, or are they all much of muchness?

Ive gone with pacemaker on a 304. Clearance of hydraulic bearing lines look fine. Only clearance issue i can see after test fitting tonight is drivers side engine mount tag on torana engine mounts fouling the front pipe of the headers. ARP head studs are a pain as well and will be cut off to fit

I've gone with pacemaker on a 304.

Isn't a 304 the same block as a 308 but with a different stroke? They do have the numbers 308 cast into the block right?

I think the block is the same but don't quote me on this. The casting on the side is 5.0 not 308. Block came out of a VS Clubsport so im lead to believe.

I had tri-Y pacemakers on my LH 253 with M21 and hydraulic clutch setup.

It all fit OK, albeit tight.
