I've got access to a very rough FC Ute. the chassis is pretty much non existent, and the front clip is the same. It's got a rough body that has traces of the original Holden blue/green colour, but it's pretty much a rust bucket.

I'm, thinking about maybe turning it into a "rat rod" the plan would be to just fix the body where the rust has gone through and clear it. I would need to find a new front clip, but see that Castlemaine rod shop does one. the engine bay would be restored to perfect condition and be home to a nice little 350 chev crate motor. I would do the interior as an over the top resto with white leather bench seat and new Daktoa Digital dash. It would have all modern running gear and be auto. The bed liner does not exist currently, so I would put in a new timber one highly polished.

Now that's hopefully painting a picture of what's in my head.. but should I pull the trigger and do it ? - It's going to cost a bit. But would be worth anything once done? - Rat Rods are becoming very popular in the US but mainly in larger C10 style utes ?

Thoughts anyone ???

Discuss it with your engineer but I agree with this principle, find a commercial one tonner with similar track and wheelbase and go from there

You can use a comercial chassis or a post 48 body as a hot rod no.

But you can do a rebody on a chassis still.....
