My previous 6 by 6 shed that I built, I fitted insulation in the roof along with a Roof Ventilator.

According to my invoice it was Kingspan Aircell Insulbreak 55.

My new shed at the property I just purchased has no insulation or Roof Ventilator, so I am going to have to remove the roof sheets and fit insulation/Vent.

Those of you who have not been in a tin shed in the tropics may not understand how important insulation actually is.

I contacted the shed company I bought the kit from, they insist they installed Kingspan Aircell Glareshield 55.... Ive showed them the invoice from 2009.... Maybe it was a typo.....as I cant find any info on Glareshield 55???? There is info on just plain old Glareshield, but they have advised that the Glareshield 55 is a step up on the base model....?

Edit: Just figured out Insulbreak 55 is now called Glareshiled XL.

Anyone dealt with this product recently? Or can suggest another good product to use.

30sq roll is $300. I need two rolls.

we did our new shed with kingspan aircell, old shed has nothing. No roof ventilators in either shed. Like walking from the pantry to the fridge on a 30+ day. Well worth the coin

Cool. Checked out Bunnings for insulation today. It's quite dear there. Aircell stuff $380 I think for a roll.

I'll go with the deal from the shed shop I think.

Kingspan Aircell Galreshield XL $290 a roll cash. I bought some foil tape, as its suggested to tape the sheets where they overlap. Also in talks with the local sheetmetal shop to make up a Roof Ventilator. I think they about $330.

You should do some before and after temperature comparisons, it willi be interesting to see how much of an improvement it makes.

Dont know what sort you're talking about but $330 a ventilator.?? crap I hope it has a fridge for the beer aswell lol I would be thinking a roof spinny thing to extract heat which are 60-80$ from bunnings. Curious to know what type/design you get for that price

Actually that's a good idea. We have a thermal temp gun at work. I'll get some measurements.

Nah those cheap spinny things just blow off the roof in a cyclone. Plus they are noisy. I had an RV on my last shed and it was great.

The cheaper ones look like that I think. The stuff I had in my last shed was 5mm foam coved with a crinkle type finish foil.

Hmmm. Wonder how much better that is over traditional glass insulation?

Mines got a layer of sarking, a layer of foil backed insulation and then the roof sheets.

Shed is always a nice temp

Mine is a 12 x 7.5 by 4.2. Same insulation though, makes a difference even in my latitude.

That's a bloody good size!!!! This one now is a weird size, 7.5 by 6.5. I guess the budget was a limiting factor as the available land certainly isn't. It's 3m to the eaves 3.8m to the peak. But when it only has a ride on mower in it and doesn't have 2 cars in there, there is plenty of room. It's going to be a big job getting this shed set up they way my last one was. And then I have to set up the other garage where the cars are. Least that has air con!!!!!!

Thread jacking here.
Sorry guys.

But with all of these insulation ideas do they have to be installed whilst shed is being built? Or can they be done after.
If they can be done after do i have to remove any roof sheets to do so?
Cheers

My new shed at the property I just purchased has no insulation or Roof Ventilator, so I am going to have to remove the roof sheets and fit insulation/Vent.

You can screw it to battens underneath the sheets or hang it up with chook wire. Wont look as neat.

Take 2 sheets off and work back across roof, standing on existing roof. Actually pretty quick to do because you get into a rhythm.

Probably faster than emptying the shed out so you can work on the inside of the roof!! (if its anything like my shed......

Another product that might do the job is foil board.

http://www.foilboard.com.au/

Not sure how the price compares, but it'd be easy to fit to an existing shed.

LOL, you will still be floating about 2.5M in the air to fix it form the inside!! ;-)  Requiring scaffolding etc.

But with 4.5 at the eves, crying out for a mezzanine :-)  All that space!!!

Ive got a case of shed envy!
