Hi Tony, I can't help with the chassis rails but I have bought a RareSpares replacement beaver panel and the panel beater will cut out what he needs to replace.  I figure this will be cheaper than getting the panel beater to try and fabricate the part.  Hopefully I'm right.  Cheers Ron

Any sheet metal guy will roll up a new panel for way less than the RS item.

i bought a rare spares one and the panel beater fitted it,

have pics of it with the panel cut out then replaced but they are too big to post on the forum, happy to email them to you if you want?

one thing missing is the hole for the number plate light, my car has been painted and it does not have the hole so i will have to drill one through the paint, at least it wont be in a visible spot but worth making sure you put the hole there before painting

cheers, Tom

If the only part of the beaver that is rusty is where the chassis rail is then it will be cheaper/easier to just replace those sections, that's what I did. Mine wasn't too bad just hit the chassis rail ends with a sand blaster and painted with KBS. Then welded new section in. Cost is anyone's guess, any decent place will charge you around $100 an hour labour.

There was someone I think in Queensland a few months ago that was doing the whole beaver panel with the pressed area at the bottom where they spot weld underneath to the chassis rails. I saw them on ebay for $200 and judging by the photos they looked very close to the original shape. Just had a look on ebay and the ad isn't there now so I'm not sure what happened to them. I was thinking of making one until I saw his so I stopped. As just mentioned sometimes it might be easier to cut out the small sections of rust and replace them, but you will always have a weld that you can't always seal from the inside.

If you replace the whole beaver you will have a weld the entire length at the top. If you just do the chassis rail bits you can get in there from underneath, I put KBS on the back of the patch but left a thin strip for the weld, you can then spray some cavity wax on the weld from behind
