253 HG Kingswood. Bacchus Marsh Vic. It was a Silver Mist  3 speed column shift and was previously owned by my older brother from new who swapped it for HG 308 4 speed Silver Mist Kingswood.    These started a long love affair with Holdens back in 1972.  I traded the Kingswood for my first Torana which was a new 74 4.2 Chrome Yellow LH SLR.

Before I had even 'earned' y P-Plates (So easy back then) I bought a 2 Door LJ with a 186 with a cam and a 4 speed.

Someone had taped up the windows and sprayed it dark jade green. You could still see the old XU1 sticker imprint beneath it, it was that rough.

Flogged it, crashed it twice, loved it, sold it for the same amount as I bought it for later ($1500). Sadly no photo....

This thread has been done before but was fun.  My first car was a burnt orange RX2 in 1986.

My first LC Torana S in 1978...........was a familiar car in Mount Pritchard (western suburb of Sydney).

Started life as a 161, 3 on the tree, drum front brakes.

Ended up with:

192
head ported / upgraded valves & springs
balanced rods / pistons / crank
lumpy cam / alloy gears & solid lifters
electronic ignition
holley 500
extractors
Opel 4 speed (never blew it up just kept wearing out cluster shaft & bearings)
big brake booster / front discs
GTR dash
front & rear sway bars

First car was a 1970 LC 2 door.

Bought in 1978 a few months before I got my licence.

186 3 on the tree.

Then 3 on the floor.

Then 192 triple dellortos big cam V8 4 speed.

Then attacked with gas axe and welder to turn into a sports sedan. Project never finished.

If I knew back then what I know today...............................................
