Hi All

I have an old GTS steering wheel that has been in storage for a long time. Unfortunately, it was subject to some pretty extreme temperatures and has become quite sticky to touch

Has there been any conclusion to the simplest and safest way to clean them? A search of the site had a few suggestions but no feedback....

I also have a couple of early commodore 5 speed gear knobs that are the same.

Thanks in advance

Try ARCO, one of the best cleaners.

My wheel gets a bit sticky in my car just sitting in the garage. I take it for a drive and the oils in my skin cleans it, lol. I notice the plastic does thin out over the years and becomes harder and more shiny looking. The crinkle finish smoothes out with wear over the years so don't be too harsh on it. Warm soapy water should be okay and don't use a scourer.
