Hey everyone, been meaning to make a few sets of the L34 D shaped flare washers for my cars for a while now. While I'm doing them is anybody interested in a set? L34's had them but not A9X's, they just had normal round washers. I heard years ago that someone was going to re-make them but I don't remember seeing them advertised anywhere. Send me a message if your interested. If there are any other rust replacement sections you need let me know as I am looking for ideas for new things to make.

Cheers, Grant

I made a set a few years ago off an original one I burrowed, I made them by hand, took me about 3 hours to make enough for 1 car.

I need another set so if the price is cheaper than 3 hours of my life Id be interested

It's interesting looking at the old posts on the ones that WOT179 made. Luckily I have one original washer to copy from so I can get the size and the bend at the end pretty close. I remember hearing years ago that someone was looking at making a batch of them but I wasn't on the forum at the time WOT made his. I know these are not for everybody but I needed to make some for my own car so if I can help a few other people out at the same time it's all good. To answer a previous question I am making them out of 1.2mm mild steel as I have plenty of off-cuts in this size to use up and it looks about the same thickness as the original.

Wow !  I brought a set of these years ago, still have them , brand new OEM, at a swap meet! The seller had no idea what they were to fit, as he got them from a closing down sale at an old Holden dealer ! And no- sorry folks, they not for sale, as with other rare items fitted to the L34, I like to hold onto these spare parts.

Eveyone wanted these until they were made, then it was mostly crickets.

Those who got them were happy.

Dont make too many Grant, unless you have fixed orders.

They are surprisingly fiddly to make, even when laser cut.

Good luck.

Might not get an answer too soon from Grant and Craig

They haven't logged in for awhile

I'd be up for a set if someone makes them again though

Does any have a contact number for Grant?

Thanks Laurie, I didn't end up finding anyone who could make a stencil but a good mate Matt Peacock hooked me up with an early nosecone that was usable and better than drilling holes in a NOS nose cone.

Ill have to do a build thread soon as the car is close to completion but with covid19 and my employment stopping my build is all but practically stalled.
