Hello,

I'm looking at a set of 15x8's and 15x10's Hotwires.   I am having a hard time finding  tires to suit

What specs' and where to get them from?  I'm thinking of  235/60-R15 and 295/60-R15.  I don't know if this is too big.   it would give a roller diameter of around 660mm. is this too big what diameter shoul i aim for?

Rears will likely be too tall for standard arches. So will the fronts.

225/50/15 front and 265/50/15 for backs is what I run.

660mm won't be too tall. It's just under 26 inches which will fit a standard arch no problem.
As for width, no idea, I don't have flares

That is for the rear I should add

I think Adam's drama is not so much the tyre availability, rather knowing what actual size is appropriate for the cars.

If people could post photos of their cars and state the rolling diameter (or full tyre sizes so that rolling diameter can be deduced) then that would be best - I'd also be very keen to see this.

TUF 308 has probably summed it up well, those sizes are super common on flared cars with 15 x 8's and 10's.

On the rear you could also go 275/50 (I've run them before), and I have mates running 295/50 but they are tight.

285/40/15 looks sweet on the back too

225 on the front

Your 60 profile might be the issue

50 is a better fit

What Dattoman said. 285's are the go and are easier to source.

265 50s or 275 40s I had 265 yokies for years guards cut slightly with bump stops raised 25mm.My opinion width at the rear shouldn't make the fronts look like razor blades. 225 fronts\ 235 needed fire wall massage.

Do you all run a matching set? Brand, pattern or different rubber fronts to back?

I've got 255/40/17 front and 275/40/17 rear, both on 17x9" wheels

20151017_125144.jpg

Requires cutting especially on the front but its worth it. If you had good flares on the back you may not require too much work there.

In 15s about the biggest you can go is as mentioned above 225/50 front and 265/50 rear (285/40 is actually smaller diameter) before you start cutting.

285/40 x 15 are a bit more exotic though right? (As in expensive). What is a typical price for them these days? I've always been interested in a pair but prices have always been a massive turnoff when compared to 265/50's (which you can usually pick up for under $200).

I've either got 225 40 or 225 45 17 on 8" rims on front and 245 45 17 on 8" on rear. No tubs, no flares and no liped guards. No rubbing anywhere

LXCHEV I've found it hard to find 40's or 50's in a 15's, to suit 8's and 10's.   Been told they are getting harder to get to find, as the big brands are not bringing them in any more.  I'm going for 17's now as i can get Federal 595 in 235/40R17 for $150 and 275/40R17 for $180 each.

That's cos they are rubber bands!

I should add that a big factor in how wide you can go is ride height. If you don't mind it sitting high like a 4wd then you can get a significantly wider tyre under the car.
