It looks like the previous owner of my LC was not going to run a washer bottle.

He welded up all the wiring harness holes and the mounting holes for the washer bottle, and I think he has welded up the hole for the washer bottle hoses. Obviously was going for the clean look but I'm going an original look.

See pic below looks like I also have an extra small hole above the wiring harness hole.

Does anyone know if this is factory and if so what the purpose of it is?



Looking inside and it appears that they plated and filled the washer bottle hose hole.



Is someone able to please measure the positioning of the washer bottle hose firewall hole and the opening size / diameter that would help me a lot? I want to run the original style pump hoses for the washer bottle.

Can someone please measure the location of the washer bottle mount holes?

If someone can give me some guidance before I hit it with a drill and hole saw it would be much appreciated.

What you call the wiring harness hole is actually the hole for the brake pedal pushrod (power assisted brakes) and the hole above is for the top mounting bolt on the booster mounting & relay bracket assy

Ok great thanks Dave for clarifying and thanks Col for the pics much appreciated. That makes more sense now why would he fill the wiring clip holes and not the harness hole!. Excellent thanks for the bare firewall shot Maz, that's the money shot will be able to work it out close enough from there, and can use the grommets to work out the diameters.

If anyone has a pic of the two screw holes for the washer bottle that would help a lot.

Have you the wire Steve that goes through
hole in inner guard and then under washer
bottle to hold it there.the 2 screws are
plenty though

Also guys I noticed there is another small hole the other side of the booster with a single wire coming out of it. Does anyone know what this wire is for?

I'm also in the process of sorting out my wiring harness. The car didn't come with one so making one good harness based on a standard LC one with modifications for the GTR dash. I had a good look at the harness and did not notice this singles black wire is it an LJ thing?

Hey Maz no my inner guard on the right hand side is all smooth the two screw holes for the washer bottle have been filled so just need to find the holes and re-drill them.

You mean the wire shown coming through the choke cable hole in RallyRed's GTR firewall pic?

Non original wire. LC GTR had a thermally operated auto choke. No choke cable, no power wire.

Ah choke cable hole ok thanks Dave for confirming. Don't plan on running a choke cable to the SUs so no need to drill that one then.

Hi Steve,ive done the wiper motor and wiring
harness holes and the wiper motor reservior.
they are pretty close i never done the second
hole i will let you get it level in the using
Your bottle 😊.All measures are to middle of holes..whats your measurement col roughly to
first hole.

Hi Maz, I don't follow what you mean by wiper wiring hole. There are no holes in the upper dash panel or the firewall for the wiper motor wiring.

 

Oh, I can see it now with my glasses on. You mean the heater cable hole?

BTW, what car was the above pic and measurements taken on. LJ by the looks of it.

wiring came out of that hole.so its been

The hole on the LJ hasn't been enlarged. 19mm dia would be correct for the LJ.  LC is different.

Maz you are an absolute star! I cannot thank you enough for the trouble you have gone to, to help me. You have gone above and beyond. You even took off your clips to measure. Mate I owe you big time, and have taken out the guess work for me

Haven't posted any updates for a while to my build thread, have been plugging away over the past few months and will add a post with the end result of the drilling and fitting of the harness when it's all done.
