So on Tuesday we went down to rarespares to pick up a few panels and when putting on the spoiler we noticed these notches on the spoiler and we are wanting to know what they are for?

Hey Ethan,

Love the thread so far mate, don't give up, this is the type of thing that dreams are made of!

The holes in the rear spoiler I believe are for the screws to attach the spoiler to the boot lid, you can see them on most cars with spoilers though I believe leaving them out like mine makes the rear look very neat and give a more clean line look.. just my opinion..

Happy building mate!

and Merry Christmas

Also have a few questions about what people have done for wiring looms because ours is a little butchered and i was wondering if anyone has bought an aftermarket loom?

I usually repair factory looms if not totally fubar'd.

Reason being is even if you get aftermarket loom you still need use all factory plugs/switches transferred to new harness which takes ages to do nicely then spend time working out why some things still dont work if faulty switch/earth/electrical item.

Really comes down to patience if doing it yourself 'cos it chews up time.

Progress has been slow lately but finally got the car on a rotisserie so we can finally get to the underside and get that ready for painting.

Late 69 shell, (delete those 69 bump stop brackets they will only be trouble later down the track) The car would not of had a ADR tag but should have vin and body tags, the thing that got me most was the rear quarters look like mid 72, you did mention the car had a accident how bad mate, I love seeing kids doing things like this with there dads and family projects are great fun too.

Cheers gong

Hi John

It is an early 1970 shell. It does have an ADR compliance plate. I can see it in one of the pics, or at least where it was in other pics.

The additional seat belt mounting holes? you can see on the inner rear quarters are not factory holes.

Why do you say those early type bump stops will only be trouble down the track? Do the brackets attached to the side rails promote rust?

Cheers

Dave.

They do rust pretty bad to both the bracket and inner rail as well as skirt,,, and when rallied back in the day they would cause rail twist,,, the problems caused by these bump stops was the reason why they were deleted in 1970, each year of production from 1969-1974 changes were made to body and panels to make the cars stronger or safe.

You are right with the ADR plate been there I didn't see that, and them bump stop did roll in until the 3 month 1970,,and you know what else, I spent some time trying to work out were they had joint the rear quarters (fxxk)

Cheers gong

Hi mate. Your build is coming along nicely.

I am currently making brackets to mount my LC onto a rotisserie too. I have made a bracket for the front.

I'm just curious how you mounted the rear of yours?

Did you just use the rear bumper bracket holes?

Sorry to hijack your thread

Been a while since I've updated, we are currently in the process of painting the car and wanting to an add offset racing stripe and was wondering if there was a pre made kit anyone has created or what dimensions etc they need to be?
