I personally love vn and vp Holden's and think they look better than the vl before them. Cheers Aaron.

I agree Aaron, VL are ugly.

Happened to all the metallic options, the Acrylic base coat and low baked enamel clearcoat were never actually tested in Australia, they were American products.

Failure was imminent.

Wasnt just Holden, pretty well everything from the era with the metallic option is the same.

How come all the atlas grey ones paint on the roof went shit?

The red ones dis too. I looked at a few 10 years ago for engine donors and the paint was rubbish on them.

VL are only popular because of the turbo. No turbo no VL, Cheers Aaron.

Went alright too with a little boost.

Na, the VL is the UC of first shape Commodore and Calais. They can look good if the headlights are disguised (aka Calais) and the boot lip is covered (as in HDT/HSV stuff) but as a standard car they are on par with a base VN or worse.

How did this build thread turn into a debate about what car is ugly or not to your taste. Lets respect the build thread and only comment if relevant. Good luck with the build. Look forward to progress pics. 👍

Its usually typical of build threads that are up for years with no progress. The banter keeps it interesting :)

But more done today. Inspected the tunnel, yep unmolested.

Also quick check under the bonnet, yep, correct number of cylinders.

And finally, moved some parts around and stacked them on the car... Big morning, time for a beer :)

PS, if you want a good laugh, Check out gene's build thread :)

Huh ?

Your posts so far ...

The VN is the ugliest car made by GMH.

But you don't mind them.

You like VL's.

But would never build a bommodore.

You aren't building a car.

But you have a build thread and you are building a car ?

This is why drugs are bad..... Your frOcktardary knows no bounds ;)

I think ugliness of vn ss is what makes them stand out better lol.

Wanted a s2 white vn ss or Walky..somehow I ended up with genuine vn group a...car was nothing but trouble.

That yellow handbrake wire been molested, wrong plug....no biggie

Fuel rail covers are on irish though & coil bolts to back of engine on these.

Power pack is that series 2 seats & power-windows or steel calais/hsv headers, knock sensor & 180 kw memcal?
