I have a question regarding the door trim pockets. Are they black at the bottom like the photo or did they also come in chamois coloured carpet?
Thanks

What is your Trim Code? What colour is your floor carpet supposed to be?

The trim code will tell you if it is Chamois/Black or Chamois/Covert. Chamois/Covert is where you normally find Covert carpet although I think one of the Chamois trims used Chamois carpet according to Norm's book. So is it 60A, 60B, 60V, 60X or 60Y? Most LX will have Chamois/Black which are the 60A and 60B trims but some early cars used HJ/LH trim which are the V and X trims. You may but unlikely find a 60Y trim on early LX SLR/SS which I think is the one with Chamois carpet in Norm's book but I question this as it should be Covert from my research. You may also find a re-introduction of V, X and Y trim at HZ release in LX which goes back to HJ colour combos but I don't think Chamois (60) style trims are affected in SLR or SS, only SL appears to revert to 60Y. At least according to the changes to the LX, TC and HZ order procedure colour and trim combination charts issued in Bulletin D27 on August 19 1977.

Yes, if the vinyl is Chamois and not Beige. I say this as 60A in HJ/HX can mean Beige/Black or Chamois/Black depending upon the lux level - in a Holden it is Beige, but in Kingswood it is Chamois. If the trim-maker has reproed from the wrong sample it will be wrong. When you see new samples side by side the difference is obvious.
Best bet is to get a late LX parts catalogue or Norm's Torana Tough book which both tell what the colour of each bit is.

Here are some scans. On the scanner it is harder to pick between the Beige and Chamois, but look at the 67 vinyl, the Brown and the Tan are more obvious. In the flesh the 60 colour is as easy to pick.
I also included the cloth insert Chamois Chevron (goes in 60B), but yours being 60A is straight chamois with the Chamois 319 insert material.
Edit - i'll have to attach the picture from another PC. Here you go.

So is it 60A, 60B, 60V, 60X or 60Y?

That is the bench seat Holden trim in HJ Holden and Belmont. I have a feeling they are just plain vinyl trim in LH as 18V and 60V in an LH S has an insert I believe, so the plain trim gets the next letter. I think the last of the Gpaks have 18W trim. I think the 60W is beige though and 60V is Chamois.

I thought the -XXW trim had a wood grain insert panel up the top of it?

Have a look in Norm's book in the LH trim section, you can see the seat inserts in the 18V and 60V trim for S, and W trims with no insert and different vinyl tone come in later in 1975

Did any S get the woodgrain? I though that was SL and up only.

Chamois carpet, never ever heard of a car with it. Nor seen one.
Can someone post a pic for curiosity?
I question it too, but Norm has it so the info has come from somewhere.
