They are the original manifold that Warren Armour produced, but he made another one later on to suit cars like the Torana. That manifold with a 2" SU & the bonnet will hit the front carb, may fit with an 1 3/4".

stuck in his ways from yesteryear.you just
cant tell em bud.even with that pic he is
still adamant that warren never made 2...lol.
I couldnt possibly tell him anymore from what
yous have mentioned .even with that pic.
Difference is night and day.
I actually feel quite sorry for the ole fella
He goes on to say
The only other way would b machining the
flange as i cannot see why warren would have
gone to the additional expense and tooling
given the cost and volume involved..
Its all good .i might have found a set as i
used Craigs pic of the 2 on fakebook and i
should have a pic of the armours by this
afternoon.hopefully the its not bigger than
my 57 by 38mm port size.

Well from all the experienced people i have
spoken to (all old farts) they only know one
if any degree variation.
For angle it would have been milled @ the
head flange,i have also had another call from
tasmania,as to the length of 7" inches they
were all that.(i asked are they all 7" long)
So whatever your friend has it must of been
modified . I also spoke to Doug from
magee fuel injection and he confirms also
that warren only made 1 which he had on his
vintage drag rail holden 6
So no 1 know of this manifold of which you say exists.

Small world...
This exact manifold must have done the rounds- I ended up swapping one of my old manifolds for this plus some cash.. This exact manifold is currently on my LC. I can recognise it by the red on the manifold face, as well as various marks etc..
Just for future readers interest, the SETON manifold with 2 inch SUs clears torana (lc/lj) bonnets by about 25mm, so no need for others mods to protect the bonnet.

That manifold was for sale at bargo swapmeet over 20 years ago for $120
Here it is on my engine.. I cleaned it up a lot, it was very heavily oxidised..

Anyone seen the steel Seton 9 port mani on eBay? Dudes starting price is 7 hundy, no bids which I guess is no surprise.
Wondered if anyone knows anything about them?
I just saw it now- they are rare, but NFI how many they made... I understand Barry Seton made the steel ones to get the design and lengths where he wanted them etc, to then make the moulds from them for the cast allum. ones. Basically I understand the steel ones to be the prototypes for the cast jobbies.
It would not surprise me if he sells it close to that figure- but it might take a little while as you need someone who knows and appreciates the history. I know of a fella who owns a good steel seton and was offered $1000 for it (thats his words) but he was not interested in selling it. i guess if someone wants something bad enough, they will pay for it.
My god, I just saw a VK Brock replica that is 55k? crazy- the same car would have been 15k only a few years ago. Since when were dunnydoors so expensive???

Has anyone seen a Seton exhaust manifold /extractors, I had an old guy looking at my Seton weber manifold once who told me that he had a set. Maybe I should have pestered him to try to buy them. Oh that's an opportunity missed.

The steel Seton manifold mentioned above was also previously owned by my friend who had the other Seton manifolds in this thread.

Im pretty sure a member on here, thomastorana has a SETON set of pipes- Im working from memory but pretty sure thats what he said he runs on his LJ IPRA race car. It runs an irving head but the seton may have been adapted or had new flanges welded on to suit? I could ask him if anyone is interested... I sold him my Irving head- wish I didn't but needed the money.

The old man just bought a Bolwell Mark 6 project car he is hoping to have it up and running over the next few years, it needs a lot of work though. Complete restoration full rewire, body needs fibreglass repair and paint, motor needs to built (tough). There isn't much room for big carbies or a Irving head, the car came with 1 3/4 stromberg carbies which may be the only ones which will fit. It should be a cool little car once it's completed.

Yes we have a set of seton manifolds hanging in the shed at home, were run on an old iron headed motor. We have another set made by Neville Bridges which are beautifully constructed also. The Exhaust manifolds for the Irving head are 2 piece works of art which follow similar lines and curves to the Seton pipes but they are slightly larger and scavenge a bit further down. I'll try and take some photos while I'm at my old mans place next time I'm there.

Gday Chris!
The mark 6 sounds awesome! My god that would be a sight with an irving head! if engine bay clearance is an issue for the irving- maybe turn the manifold upside down and run down draught webers and stick the carbs out in the air (this would look awesome hahahaha). Ive got a warnerford short runner manifold and already ported for 2 inch SUs if you want it... its just hanging in my shed doing nothing, and I doubt I will be using it anytime soon. Might help with side clearance (if thats the problem).
Hows the LJ going? Let me know when you are out at SMP again, ill take my kids out to watch... My son keeps asking when is Chris racing again hahahaha.

Yeah it would honk with a Irving head roller motor. Racing on the 1st and 2nd of July if yo want to come out for a look,I t may be cold so rug up, it's at SMSP. Hope to see you there mate.
Thanks for that Chris- Im spewin but, as I will be overseas then so will miss it... maybe the next race... Twist your old mans arm to try to throw on the irving on his new project! It would be extreme!

Knowing the old bloke you wouldn't have to twist his arm to hard
