Wow, what's a Ford dealer (well his second hand yard) doing with a "brand new" LJ 308 registered in Oct '73.

perhaps it had something to do with Greg Cusack jr's race/Rally connections.

IIRC I have seen somewhere photos of the "red" Canberra LJ 308.

its interesting, but was the LJ GTR New ??????? maybe very low K's and calling it New, would love to see the Photos of the Red Canberra LJ GTR 308 if they are about.

Yes, poetic licence of the "used car"salesman,    hard to believe it was new as in "0" k's.   Red LJ GTR 308 I think it was a photo car sales ad, canberra /LJ/308/red

don't know if I took a copy of the ad but remember the photo (B/W) I will search,  its yours "if" I find it.

"Some other LC era orange colours are, Sebring Orange, Indy Orange and there's a listing for Turnpike Orange (Bedford Trucks), which has the same ident number as the '73 colour Tangerine(12692)".

Could this car be a LC with a V8 fitted or are you thinking LJ?

Remember reading feature article about red lj gtr v8 from ACT in streetmachine or some mag was reportedly one of earliest v8 cars on database.

 

If you can track article down might get plates off it...vaguely remember it as 80's magazine.
