Yep.
Just pulled the trigger on another 25 year+ Holden and I'm loving it.

This is an '85 Commodore Berlina loaded up with a Black 202. Pretty sure the wheels are knockoffs of Simmons OM1s but they're not coming to me with the car. Has a couple of rooted wheel studs (Bloody Bob Jane being dumb with rattleguns and the wrong nuts) and it looks like two possums were fighting on the roof, but all in all she's a tidy bus. Needs the transmission looked at, poor little Trimatic is slipping like its going out of fashion. Really hope it's just a band adjustment and not a torque converter or transmission replacement. $$$$

Got her for $1350 and a carton of beer. Hekkas.

Trimatic might still be ok...several things can make them play up.

Used to hate them when everybody owned one now dont mind them as much...price of these starting to get out of hand too.

Got 5l vk & a vh sle but still Torana person first!!!

Nah, not a fan of replicas personally. At the end of the day if I was after a Blue Meanie, I'd get a Blue Meanie. Plus when the Torana is off the road getting painted this will be my daily

What kind of things can let go in them? Trimatics are a very foreign box to me.

I'd happily own a Meanie too, it'd have to be a legit Blue Meanie, though. I'm weird.

1- Engine out of tune.

2- Vaccuum leaks, dud modulator or even split hoses from either manifold tree or modulator.

3- Finally auto service...some still ok even with worse smelling trans fluid but wont know for sure untill see what's in the pan & adjustments..

Bit over blue meanies...replica's everywhere & several mates had them.

Luckily mine is asteroid silver, efi 5l/th700/4.11 borgy so gonna keep it executive spec or 84 base model ss...just got good copy scheels free

Cheers man, when I start wrenching on her this weekend I'll keep a close eye for that. Really hoping I don't need to take it to see a mechanic. $$$

After a few months of trying to broker a time to pick it up, it's finally on my property. Put the front back together, give it a good wash, then start diagnosing the transmission...

Did you miss the part where this was in the non-Torana projects section?

On top of that not so easy buying torries now that they command big money...early bombadores are affordable for now.

Not in Sydney they're not depending on specs...5-10k seems to be the norm except now people think ugly spec colour/trim are worth the same coin even if 6cyl.

Tried to sell unfinished asteroid silver/blue interior vk wanted 5k a while back...efi 5l/th700/4.11 b/w got haggled severely so gave up.Still get enquiry pm/emails for it

Would love another torrie/kingy etc but they're a dream now so early bombadores it is...will get out of cars when vt commo gets cool classic status that vn dungdores 'starting' to get lol.

She looks in good nick Anthony. Put it back together, bolt some nice wheels to it, and drive it. It has been a while since I've seen one with grey bumpers.

Got a photo of your VK GTRBOY?

Picture a completely stock looking yet slightly dull silver vk exec...factory hubcaps everything...then pop bonnet hidden wiring 185i/th700/bw 4.11 lsd

It's cool when people ask 'why is that in garage?' then pop bonnet lol

Tried B45's but looked horrid..pics are on old phone.

Would you believe people ask $100-$200 for vk hubcaps?????????

This thing has been put on hold for a little bit, Torana needs a new radiator and some other bits and bobs - I've diagnosed the transmission in the VK and I believe the stator in the torque converter is rooted. Still want to take it in to a mechanic for a second opinion, I can't afford to throw parts at it if it doesn't need it.

UPDATE

I was completely wrong. Like, not even f--king close. Transmission just needed a service, sump was full of sludge and the filter was filthy. Only needs bumper reo and a couple of other little things and she'll be apples.
