Hi All,

I want to remove the insert fitted to the bottom of the column shaft on LX, it has a roll pin fitted which I've removed but its still tight and does not want to move. I suspect its simply pushed/pressed in, but how tight is it really? And is it a simple matter of knocking it out with a suitable drift or punch from inside?

I'm cutting the shortening the shaft for a project and need to reinsert the original end.

Any insights?

The hex is 34mm long overall , i just cut the end off one and used a drift to knock it out.

Yup, that's it, pulled it apart this afternoon, simple press fit and retained with the roll pin, easy to get apart, will be easy to refit once the mods are done.

Cheers, M.
