Hi Everyone,

I have a LX SLR 5000 built 2/76, ADR 27 and I'm chasing some info on the correct intake manifold and carby. From what i have found the correct intake manifold is cast No. - 9929853 with carby No. - 7045281 with a date code late in the year and a auto choke setup from a heat pipe in the exhaust manifold No. ?. Would anyone be able to confirm this as being correct and would anyone know of the specs of the carby like jet size, primaries size, secondary metering rods and hanger size that would of been used in the standard setup. Any pictures of the setup would also be good thanks.

Not sure on the intake, but it will be a 99 cast number and is the water heated type like HT-HQ but with cable throttle return spring bracket threaded hole.
Carby is correct as 7045281, easy to find as all 308 from 1/75 through to 5/76 are the same. Don't get too hung up on build date, just get one with a 5 on the end. Choke comes from a pipe connected to the RH exhaust manifold, should be the same as all HT-HJ 253 and 308. There is a guy on EBay who sells SS repro examples with the heat proof sleeve. The cold air from the other side comes from the base of the air cleaner. Get yourself an LH or LX parts catalogue and it will show you how it all connects, plus will give you all the carby info you are looking for. Will also show how the canister connects and vacuum advance as well.
Your best bet is buying a whole original carby off EBay or a swap meet, they are on there or at swaps all the time. Over the last few years I've picked up examples of most of them including HT-HQ GTS350 carbs for $50 or less, just have to know what you are looking for. If you want PM me your email address and I'll send you a link to one when I see one next.

LX parts book lists the manifold as 9929854

HJ HX and HZ are the same

That is a part number not a casting number.

Yes. Alloy bits often only by one digit. Others totally different.

Thanks yel327 for the confirm on the carby. I did pick one up awhile ago at a swap meet for $10 but was unsure if it was correct but for $10 i couldn't go past it. It is missing some bits - linkages for choke and flap on primaries but should be OK.

Also thanks Hanra for the link to your thread, what an epic build, hope I can do the same and revert the hack ups on mine, just got to work out what it was as standard because it is very early LX which seems to be basicly a LH with LX badges as it has a black dash, high beam on the floor and herring bone seat inserts etc, which seem to be correct so?
