Is there an after market shifter out there which has less travel to change gears than the factory one

I have looked into those shifters and no one could tell me if the throw on the gear change was any quicker

Hey Chrisss , Just in the process atm . Have a hurst atm and my mechanic thinks we should change it as the car is for my 8 year old daughter . First he was talking about the renegade with some mods . The guy that sells them hasn't rang him back . He has also spoke to me about another shifter , just unable to remember what it is . Will call him next few days . This guy is very cleaver . Soaring phoenix mechanical " Peter" .

I looked at this one - seen the price  - looked at it again

And bought a Hurst

Nice piece of kit though and pity you have to sell a kidney to buy one

Best shifter for the t10 "long"shifter.
Slighty longer travel than hurst BUT much better feel, when i had my t10 i swapped out my hurst for this.
Uses a rail style, more traditional like an internally shifted box but made external.
Rose jointed linkages, will require some room in the tunnel.
Best external linkage shifter you can buy.

Hey ozyozyozy , Never heard of the long shifter . Looks the part . Is it a smooth operation through the gears ? . also would a girl have trouble changing gears as its for my daughter ? Thanks for the advice :) .

No easy as.
Just need to setup up the shift rod lengths so the groove in the rails are aligned.
I thought the t10 with the "long" shat on the shift feel of the TKO 5 speed.
It was and still is used on nascar gearboxes.
Same shifter as what alot of the TCM race cars are using

I am currently using the standard shifter cut down and straighten it works fine just would like a shorter throw same as a w58 iam running begin my little 202 lj and it flyers through the gears that fast it's not funny can't believe there is that much difference between my t10 and my w58

Cant remember off the top of my head but all your standard handles bolt on eg hurst.
I had a handle made coz i hate reaching way over there to get to it, like it right next to me.

+1 long shifter - you can play around with the shift plate lengths to adjust the throw

The Long Shifter also sits a bit closer to the drivers seat and a bit thinner than the hurst shifter. Sitting a bit closer and less cutting to the tunnel passenger side. Long shifter in front, Hurst shifter behind

Looks good. A bit of a rework on the bracket & it could be closer to the middle.
