Also found this from EXEDY, which says it's for M20 & M21 but talks about V6 engines, seems a tad confusing...

Those ^^^ are the adjustment procedures for a pull type cable clutch.

Well I'm please to hear that Dave.  So I can cross off one of my problems then.  Unfortunately it's not the main one. LOL Cheers Ron

The good news is, I can now get it into all gears.  Only problem is that the clutch pedal is way up on where it should be. I can't adjust it back any further as the fork hits the top of the opening in the bellhousing so   I suspect I would have to adjust the pivot ball to rectify that but I can't get any leverage on it.  I think my best bet is now to take it to a professional to look over and adjust as it should be.  At least I feel like I have solved the problem, within reason.  Thanks again to all for your help and advice. Cheers Ron

Still sounds to me like you have a 6 cyl clutch pedal but I'll cross my fingers it is as simple as adjusting the clutch fork pivot ball.

Dave, you would know better than I, but I did have a 6cyl one in the car originally and the one I bought from Restos is supposedly for V8 and it does have a longer hook on it but a bit difficult to compare exactly.  I bet my fingers are crossed more than yours lol.  Cheers Ron

Hi Ron,

Concept is simple. Cable moves the same at pedal as thrust bearing.
Figure out how much throw you need at the bearing to actuate....then measure how much movement you get at the pedal through its travel.
You'll figure out quickly if it's an adjustment thing. You might have a combo (thrust bearing, pedal, fork) that won't work together for whatever reason but it's possible to modify things. Die grinder on bellhousing or modify fork or modify pedal hook.

Not sure of your location in Melb?

Dunno about that? Might be a ratio change? cable link - pivot - thrust?

Correct. Poor wording.

The cable movement at the pedal is the same as the cable movement at the FORK.
