Got a strange issue going on with my car,I noticed the pedal travel getting a bit close to the floor,so yup adjust up the rear brakes right, welllllll um no ican't get the right hand brake adjuster to work correctly,at some stage it's had the adjusters removed and up until now it's never been an issue, for some reason I can't get the right hand side to adjust up,I suspect the spring to be bent so I have another to fit,I just jacked the back up and clamped off the hose to check to see if I have more pedal and it's the same, goes almost to the floor,it's not spongey and pulls up straight so I'm sort of confused, everything was replaced when I done the rebuild, been on the road a bit over 2 years, anyone got any ideas

Sounds like a m/cyl failure. The adjusters turn opposite directions to adjust them. One side the adjuster is left hand thread, the other side has a right hand thread can't remember which side is which now though.

Yeah, but they still flick the same way to adjust, bottom to top from memory.

If it lost pedal all of a sudden it's more than likely a hydraulic/master problem.

I wondered if it was balance thingamajig, can't think of the name of it for the life of me,it's strange it won't pump up or anything ,there is no sign of fluid leaking,it didn't fail all of a sudden,so it's got me stumped

Brake fail switch & junction block if original LJ equipment. Still sounds like a failed m/cyl.

Ok,we been back from our cruise for nearly 2 weeks,I had play and adjusted up the rear brakes to the point of them dragging, has made a slight improvement,,after some more investigation I ordered a new master cylinder, was talking to an old brake specialist who asked me a heap of questions he said check the calipers,so I thought I would clamp off the front hoses and bingo full pedal,so I will pull the wheels off tomorrow and have a look,I will keep you informed

Sounds like the slides on the front calipers are sticking, very common in Vr-vs Commodores and gives the the pedal a lot of travel prior to the brakes working

These have 2 Pistons, one is stuck, there is a bit of rust under the outer seal so frock the expense I have ordered 4 new Pistons and 2 seal kits to rebuild both spare callipers, another $240 goes on the build lol

Well all fixed, brakes work good, was a bloody challenge getting the bastard Pistons out out of the calipers,I ended up welding a washer inside the Pistons and used a slide hammer to get them out, easy as....well sort of
