Took Heaths advice with this one and taught myself how to add more filler to the Weld while tigging in the patch. It took some practice but it worked out ok I think.
Definitely helped when planishing back to original shape

Haha I feel silly being referred to as having a positive influence here.

Your metalwork skills are astonishingly good. I'm just happy to sit here with a silly grin having a look at your progress. Awesome!!!

You may not fully realise the influence you and your work has mate. Watching you work and have the balls to create something out side the box and to the the standard in which you have drives me and no doubt others to keep cracking.
I got not a bloody clue what I’m doing so it helps me watching yours unfold

Then had to modify the next patch as the depth of the bend was wrong so had to take material out the centre.

Then burnt it in. It proved to be quite tricky as I had already made a small repair in this area I wasn’t happy with so I cut it out and pieced this in. Not super pretty because it’s a lot of welding in a small area but is solid flat and strong. Then once I welded it in I drilled the factory holes and rounded the edges.

Haven’t achieved anything on the torana in about 6months due to saving my pennies and also being frustrated with my work space being cramped and generally just a bit shit. But finally the time has come to empty out my shed, rip the bloody thing down and build a brand newie that doesn’t flood in down pours and has one level of concrete that’s actually flat.
Then it should help me be a bit more productive and keep all my bits safe, also a small enclosed clean room will be cool.

"The garage space at that place is too big!" said no one ever. Should be a good investment come sale time. looking forward to seeing more expert metal work.

Cheers, Steve.

Thanks Harvey, I get a kick out of hearing positive feedback from others on my work even if it is slow sometimes haha. I get a bit OCD with things but I’m glad you like it, but your right just got to keep chipping away huh.

I told him he was insane and first chance I get I will extend it further haha. thanks mate, I’m no expert yet but I try do the best I can with what I’ve got, but I’m glad you like it so far.

While not much work has been done on the torana, a lot of work has been done on its new home. New shed up and new concrete, just got to get the sparkle in and get some light and power.

Tips for your sparkie.

Minimum 16mm2 to the shed.

That way voltage drop should never be a problem.

A bit dearer, but worth it in the end.

Forget about hi bay lighting. You arent high enough.

Just use normal led lights that are like the old fluoros.

They have 3 output light settings.

While the trench is open throw in another conduit for data.

That way you have more chance of running a computer or smart tv.

Cheers

Rob
