Very little can be established from the Chassis Number BLJ58407B. However, if you have actual Body Number from the Body Identification plate (that's the one with the paint and trim details) we can help you.

Apologies Ray I had a brain fade. When the Acacia Ridge VAP aligned the PSN's with the body numbers the body numbers increased from 5 digits to 6.

hi all just wondering if i could get some info on a LJ 2 door apparently its a XU1 but not 100% sure

model : LJ 82411

body : 72-A

trim : 1822-40 D

paint : 568-13135

the other plate is : 824411JL194107

the other plate has : 01/72 ALJ 00201A or could be 00291A not to sure hard to read of the pictures i got sent

my understanding is that 82411 is 2-door 4-cylinder model (def not an XU-1)

That one is an LJ DeLuxe 2 door completed in Adelaide on 20/1/72 and sold by Claridge Motors P/L Unley Rd Malvern SA in Feb '72. The Lone O'Ranger with black trim.

Hi all i was hoping to find out a little about my car , i contacted Holden via email but it seems that my "vehicle falls in those records that were lost"

I did have a look through and found my car in the PDF with the list of vins but mine has a 4 under the engine number column which is a 116 (1897cc)

I am reasonably sure it's a genuine LC GTR , it still had the dual note horn and the front guards don't look like they have been off the car. It was still in it's original color and the bonnet although damaged still had the GTR stripes and didn't look to have been repainted.

Numbers are:

VIN 82911CL181115

ALC33305A (on silver tag & stamped in body)

Body No 3676-A (on black tag)

Trim 1830-40V

Paint 567-13125

Engine No CF8872 was on the rego papers from previous owner.

Hi Arron

That car appears on the disc as a GTR completed in Adelaide on 18/8/71 and was sold by Nottle Churack P/L, 33 Burlington St Naval Base WA during Sep '71. The engine number CF8872 is correct and "4" is correct for "CF" 173S GTR engine. The original colour is Estoril Bronze Metallic and the trim is black vinyl. The Chassis Number and Body Number are consistent with the VIN and completion date.

You may be interested to know that none of the tags on an Adelaide car are painted black but were originally left in natural metal. The late LC GTRs fitted with the 173S (2850S) engine are fairly rare with only around 650 being built compared to about 5920 earlier 161S powered GTRs.

Hoping to find out a bit more about my LC GTR.

Paint colour, trim, etc

Body identification tag:
model: LC82911
Body no. 1673-A

Trim 1803-48 W

other tag:

Unfortunately it doesn't have the original engine in it.

Its been sitting in a garage for over 25 years with a 202 and cracked block.

I have another 202 to put in it soon

82911CH646736 was completed on 22/7/70. It was the 4th last GTR built in Sydney. There were no XU-1s built in Sydney.

Hello. Are you able to tell me if my Torana is a Bathurst Torana please, or point me in the direction of someone that may know. My Torana is a LJ XU1 and the PSN is 82911JH248483. It has a production date of 13/09/1972 and was built in Brisbane. It was sold by John Pellegrini Holden in Kingsford, Sydney, NSW on the 09/10/1972. Thank you for your help. David.

Hi Brett

8D11LCH275261J is a GTR completed at The Acacia Ridge Assembly Plant on 27/04/1973.

The original engine number is/was L296679.

The trim combination number tells us the car was originally painted in Cyan Metallic with Black vinyl interior trim.

The car was sold during 4/73 by Dealer 772 (Dennis Nissen Motors Crows Nest Qld)

All the numbers for this car align for the given build time frame.

I'm looking at a GTR with this plate info: Model LC 82911, Body No 2701 -A, Trim 1803-48V (Is this the upholstery code?), Paint 567 - 12185 Burnished Bronze metallic which the car appears to be, however, under the GTR badges on the quarters it has black paint and the number stamped into the inner apron is LC23705, the gearbox has a trans cooler unit on it. The local copper said he never new of anything that could keep it in sight. It all looks suss to me. What can be told from that info?.
