The plastic bush for the clutch pedal is broken to bits. Who makes a replacement that fits?
I have read the recent late 2016 posts that suggest the rare spares ones do not fit.
Anyone tried the Kingswood Country ones?(packet of 6 with 5/8 and 11/16 sizes quoted which I presume is the fitted bush ID)

Anyone been tempted to make their own out of plastic or metal?

Thanks in advance.

Rexy,

I've got some from Kingswood Country that I think came with a clutch pedal I bought for my WB but I haven't used them.  They are listed as Brake/clutch bush kit - Universal.  You are welcome to have them if you like.

I am in eastern suburbs (Knox Area).  PM me and we can tee something up.  Cheers Ron

Thanks gentlemen.
That's a generous offer Ron and I should have waited before I ordered some!
When they turn up I shall post back about what they are like.

Well sadly the kingswood ones do not fit.
I am working on a potential solution to fix their loose fit.
Does anyone have measurements of the hole in the pedal (both drivers side and passenger side) as well as the diameter of the shaft it pivots on?
Thanks

Well my slightly eccentrically worn pedal shows an ID of 19 mm once returned to round. The shaft it pivots on seems just over 16mm.
I attempted to make up a carrier sleeve for the kingswood plastic piece.

Was an improvement but not really as good as I hoped. Part of the problem is the hydraulic setup that puts an asymmetric load on the pedal which made my sleeve and plastic piece move around and separate.
So I took my trusty measuring calipers to Bunnings and measured everything I could find that looked potentially useable.
The 19mm OD copper pipe I had at home would have done nicely except it needed a flange made to retain it it the pedal.
Turns out 19 mm watering system fittings are almost spot on. Shaft OD is 19mm with barbs and flangesa little wider than that. If you cut them in the right spot you end up with a nice thick retaining flange that you can file down to fit. The ID is 16 mm so with a little file fitting it's just right.
Seems to be working well so far and as I cut up one of my broken leftovers from this years repairs the total cost was time only.
If I get motivated I might get my lathe owning friend to turn me up a brass equivalent.

I made one up for my car,but my my pedal was all flogged out so I made up a bush and welded it in,I bored the hole in the bush bigger so I could make a decent bush out of nylon

Hi Rexy, this is a constant problem with the pedal.  I fixed mine by welding a tube in the clutch pedal so it's the same as brake pedal. therefore I can use the bushs that are available and the pressure load is spread over the complete bush, not just the edges. If that makes sense?

Two years on and no problems yet!

Yes, that's kind of what I had pictured as a final solution. Out of interest what did you source to use as your welded in pipe?

Wished I tried that.

We welded up 2 deep gouge lines in shaft then filed it....the pedal was no where near as bad as shaft.

I got a steel pipe a touch smaller than required for bush then machined it out.  Drilled the pedal holes bigger to accommodate the pipe.
