In the process of fitting up a T5 gearbox to my LX.

Am retaining the standard rat trap and clutch fork but have found the Holden fork dust cover doesnt really fit the CRS bellhousing.

What are people using? CRS doesnt sell dust covers for their bellhousings!

There is a universal Dellow one but looks to be unsuitable because it is not quite wide enough.

Needs to fit this cut out. 2 1/2" X 2".

Last resort I could make my own?

Hi Michael.   I have been reading some old threads on this topic and am very interested in doing this myself. Could you tell me which T5 you are using and if it fits into the gear hole in the tunnel without any mods. Also does CRS stand for caslemaine rod shop bellhousing. Thank you Dale

Hey Dale, the box is a mustang sourced T5.
Am pretty sure CRS is what you suggest.
All my parts were supplied, and my rat trap and tail shaft modified, by Mal Wood up in Warwick Q.
Not sure if he modified the bell housing too but it does have a few unused gearbox mount points.
The shifter will fit through the hole in the floor without modifying anything I am assured. Final fit up this week.

Dale, the selector part of the gearbox sits up close to the floor with the rear of it just touching the rear of the shifter cut out on my car.

To stop it hitting and vibrating I just trimmed that edge by about 5mm so it fit properly (every car is not exactly the same so this may not be always necessary)

Other changes are exhaust due different cross member, tailshaft due shorter with different yoke and modified rat trap to fit the CRS bell housing mount (the latter two Mal Wood sorted when I picked up the kit).

Installation has stalled a little, is fitted and it drives forward and back out of the shed so far.
Couple of snags though, the clutch fork now seems to rub the tunnel, never used with the M21, guess the different bell housing is the cause.
Need to get the exhaust remade as it fouls the cross member supplied.
Also some fiddling about with the clutch fork pivot position to get a good central input range.
(Make sure you use an adjustable pivot ball)
Even though the kit was made for the car expect some mucking about still....wishing I had a hoist.
