Yes
But then read you don't want to swap seats so no
No reason you could modify the rails or change them all together. I just did my LC (but used different seats). So much better now with more head and leg room. I actually have to pull the seat forward to reach the pedals. Before with it all the way back my knees hit the wheel.

There are 2 sets of bolt holes in the runners where they mount to the floor if my memory is correct?
Gives about 1 1/2" from memory?

Just been mucking around with race seats in my LJ...the thing that is noticeable is how much up and down variation there is in the floor.
i.e. the legs on the factory seats are not all the same length, to account for variations in the floor height. The transmission tunnel side has pressed pedestal type lumps for the seat runners to mount to.
The factory seat mounts bolt through the floor , into nuts welded onto a stiffner bracket ,each side. The brackets are fixed.
Once you make the call to move the runners back,( or mount something else) there seems to be a few things to ponder -
1 You may well move the rear (and front bolts) back past the rear edge of the re-inforced floor section, and have to deal with this. ( from memory the transmission tunnel side re-inforced section runs front to back, so you may still land on it, but the door side re-inforced section is side to side, so short )
2 The rear bolt holes in the brackets each side, may end up landing in a section where there is about an inch of air under them, and you'll have to deal with this.
All easily doable, just not a 5 second bolt up job.
