Remember ol' skool blokes would have chain from block to chassis to stop tearing engine mount or engine lifting.

More fancy blokes had adjustable rod with spherical bearing rod end.

Another mod heard but cant really remember seeing is bolt through the engine mount & bracket...anyone got pics????

Only one I vaguely remember owner said he put a long bolt through the engine bracket all way through mount & hole drilled through crossmember underneath.

I gather you mean for a holden 6.

I don't have pics but I did the mod years ago on my LC and I drilled right through the 2 plates and rubber that forms the engine mount itself.  I used 2 bolts, there was only just enough room to comfortably get 2 bolts- I either side of the rib. So you have to be careful where you drill.

From memory they were 5/16" high tensile with nyloc nuts.

I did the nuts up so that there was about 2 or 3mm gap before the bolts took up the load from the rubber.

Was a bit tricky drilling the rubber and then tight to get the bolts through.

Worked really well though. I only did the left side that kept breaking.

I actually still can contact the guy I sold the LC to, I'll ask if he still has the engine mount in it.

It's a v8,tiny aircleaner on top has been love-tapping bonnet scoop & rippling bonnet skin where scoop studs go through.

Was thinking v8 mount would work same just wondered about how underside of engine mounts look like sit flush & countersinking required.

Yeah I see what you mean. I am thinking maybe I did drill the xmember to let the bolt he'd through but don't remember.

I used countersunk bolts so I didn't have to drill the crossmember
