Has it been hit in the ass at some stage?
Seen those dents appear from that. Don't need much of a tap either
I wouldn't call them factory that's for sure but could be wrong.

Sorry. I just realised that's four door. I was talking about two door so frOcks me lol

Can also get them from rough treatment over the years.

Spoke with an old panel beater that cut his teeth on these things. Never had a dent from factory was his answer. He also said due to the design of this area it never required much to create the dent.

Factory depressions in the upper quarter panel and bonnet.

I had my GTR soda blasted and painted in Bunbury WA, Apparently the experienced panel beater who was using filler on the roof because of a dent from a previous owner, apparently failed to recognise that the small amount of material removed from the lead join at the roof quarter panel join would need to have a smear of body filler too. When painted by a friend of his two depressions naturally showed up ( both sides where the join was ) it was not a good look!  After much finger pointing and some harsh words the panel beater claimed that there was a factory depression in that area. I explained I have had a Torana since I was 17 ( then 50yrs ) and I pointed out that I had three original bodies at home and none had a depression in that area. He was not deterred in his bullshit!

The end result was I payed for the job twice and it is still a pile of crap paint job, with areas unpainted.

Consequently My GTR has been off the road for many years until I can face going near it painted a third time and to put it back together!

The bonnets had a dent about the middle of them also, a frend of mine said he had problems with the LC LJ bonnets and often had to repair the slight depression, and after having done dozens of them, finally dawned on him that this was a factory pressing issue. Not necessarily from rough treatment.
