Can I ask what 'side gapped' plugs means?

Side gaping i think would mean careful manipulation of the ground electrode so that the spark gap is now on the side of
the center electrode rather than on the end of center electrode ? ,similar to what they did close to a hundred years ago with some
plugs , surface discharge would probably be ok as well but not sure if they are available to suit some of these engines, and i think they need a very good spark generator to operate properly. They basically have the ground electrode all the way around the center
electrode , which is slightly "buried" in porcelain below the level of the grounding bit.

Seems to make them run a touch hotter and not foul up as quick.

the spark plugs with 2 or more electrodes dont need gaping and suppose to be less chances of fouling the plug also.
