Does anyone have a recommendation for an XU1 battery - brand and part number.

Um, i think he said "battery" only. Try yusasa or how ever it's spelt mate. Obviously you want get as many cranking amps as you can in that size. Gary.

Hi Brian,

 

I like AC Delco batteries too, they look good in a GM car.

 

But if you want to end up doing a LUCAS lookalike battery as originally fitted, then you are going to need the GS Yuasa #51 battery.

It comes in a black case which looks more at home in the Torrie 'as is' than the Century's blue & yellow case.

The battery is the correct size, has the 6 inspection caps which can be adapted to take the repro Lucas caps that a guy in Qld does, and can be easily repainted to the correct grey/red colouring.

 

Available through Bursons (and probably others).

 

Repco also has one (in black too), #41, but at CCA 305 it's not as strong as the Yuasa at CCA330, which I believe is the same as the Century output.

Does anyone have a link to the guys in Qld that do the repro Lucas battery caps.

Try battery world i think it is, they have a bit of Yuasa stuff & were cheaper when i put 1 in my cluby 2 months ago. + 3 year warranty. Gary.
