Hi kids.  Looking to put a Crane F300 solid in my big 355 engine with VN heads. Now my dilemna is that I will be purchasing the cam as a kit which inlcudes the pushrods.  Now without being able to install the cam to measure the pushrod lenght required, it is a bit hard to gauge the length I need.  I know there are many variables that influence the length like deck height etc etc, but has anyone used one in a similar combo that I could use as a reference?  I used 8.7's with my F280.

Any help would be appreicated.  Not going to hold anyone to it, just using it as a reference that may help.

Cheers, Gerry

Unless the cam has a different base circle diameter or you're using different height lifters the pushrod length would be the same?

Cut an old pushrod, thread the guts, cut down a bolt, you now have an adjustable pushrod to guage length,.
I would absolutely check length and rocker geometry if installing a new different cam.

I'd assume current pushrods be near enough if you have not changed head gaskets or machine work.

How does camtech compare?

As noticed few av8 guys like those in custom grind over crane these days + closer to home.

I certainly will be checking the geometry Ozy hence me asking. Just trying to save myself having to buy two sets of pushrods. Only costs $40 for a pushrod measurer so will buy one of those this week.

Might check the Crane website as suggested.

I will stick with the Crane cam choice as I have used several of their cams and I really like them., This thing is going to run mid 10's if all goes well :-)
