Curious as to what people have done with the parkers on their LX Hatches. This is what I currently have in mine, H4 Conversion but no provision for a parker in the light itself. Getting a new light with parker built in (ie Hella 1058) will mean cutting into the metal backing plate, which I would like to avoid if possible. At the moment the previous owner as just cut holes into the rubber boots and silasticed the old plug in parker base so it shines through the slight gap you can see at the bottom of the H4 lamp. Bit hard to see in the second pic...

Contemplating leaving the headlight as is and getting an LED aftermarket park/turn combo and fitting that where the existing indicator is.  Something like this...

Thoughts??

My H4's had provision for a small bulb so used that. No cutting required.

That said I fitted a set to a chev and had to cut the plate you don't want to cut.

Chop away mate there aren't anything special.

I stuck a rag inside the lamp & carefully  drill the back of the lamp to where I wanted the park lamp.  Lamp was  metal backing :D

Got a rubber park lamp socket & pushed it in the hole.

Then grind out the lamp bowl, did need to touch the radiator support panel like I have seen others do.

Probably more threads here on it but I only did a quick search.

There's no need to change any wiring if its in good condition and you're running the same wattage globes. Fresh reflectors and bulbs should give you improved beam and brightness anyway.

If you're running higher wattage then you'll need to do something different, but I hope you're not driving on any roads near me.

Previous owner had already made some changes, and let's just say an auto sparky he was not... will be doing a rewire with a new dual hi/lo relay with the original wiring only supplying switching. All the lighting power will be direct from the battery and through the fused relay.

Use the bigger holed buckets that the some SS or HZ had. I modified a UC headlight wiring harness, i.e. lengthening some wires and adding an extra earth etc. Same as A9X Hatch

If your worried save your buckets and chop up another pair to do the conversion.

Chopping the backs out allows the rubber boot to fit between the lamp and the bucket.

Ran out of room for the pictures...

This is the boot installed, looks pretty neat.

Just remembering I did graft a UC headlight/rad support wiring loom in, because my LX one was stuffed, and modified it for the LX blinkers and VZ SS/Calais dual hooters.
