My LC XU-1 is for sale. The original bonnet has a small hole in it to suit a XW type scoop. I have another bonnet off a 4dr to go with it. Does this affect originallity in the case that there is a difference?

Hi

Part number 2814539 is the "Panel Assembly - Hood". It is the same number for LC and LJ 6 cylinders.

Cheers

Thanks Bazza
I once read here that there was a difference between XU-1 bonnets and the rest so I'm chasing that lead. It could be a red herring.

Maybe you're getting mixed up with the boot lids which do have a difference?

I thought the only difference would be the spoiler.

I agree with Bazza and jpxu1. All LC & LJ 6cyl bonnets are the same. There was no special bonnet for the XU1.

Some time back someone was selling an XU-1 boot lid for $ 400, when asked what makes in an XU-1 boot lid the reply was it had sound deadener on it ?

Sound deadener on all bootlids.  XU-1 lid has 3 spoiler attachment holes, and a 1 inch hole on the inner panel to allow tightening of the centre spoiler retaining stud. There are no badge pin holes.

All spare part boot lids also came with the sound deadener and no holes whatsoever.
