Hi Guys,

I may have finally found a bit of motivation, and I'm on the lookout for a trans.

I have had my heart set on a T350 to sit behind my 355, but a T700 has come onto the radar so wanted peoples thoughts on the differences and pros/cons of each.

Should I stick with the T350 idea, or open up to the idea of the 700?

Cheers

Dave

Depends on your exact setup, intended use and driving style of course, but I'd think neither would last long behind a decent 355?

I assume you're trying to get away with not modding the trans tunnel? Otherwise I'd be looking at a TH400 or a 4L80 if you want overdrive?

T700 will goive you overdrive .Built right it will handle anything you throw at it .Get the T700 with the cable .Set of 3.25 in the rear and some decent pressures and it will play all day .No mods for the tunnel either

T350 and T700 are the exact same box, bar one has an overdrive.

There the 3L60 and 4L60 respectively.

T400 is a lot stronger, its called a 3L80. There is a 4L80, Ie T400 with an overdrive, but they seem hard to come by in Australia.

Basically, if you like the idea of a T350, there really are not any downsides to a T700 to my knowledge besides it being bigger, and im sure i've seen members fit it within slightly modified trans tunnels before on this site.

Cheers.

I've had both and currently have a 4l60e . I reckon having the overdrive is the best. I wouldn't go back to a 3 speed.

I have had both recently and both behind strong 355 strokers.  Either of them are great boxes.  Have drag raced with both and they hold up well when built right.  But looking back, I would now prefer a good T700 simply for the overdrive. So if anyone wants to swap a bullet proof fully manualised T350 for a strongly built T700, let me know :-)
