Not all boot lids are the same,here are two different types.All LC and LJ parts books have one part number only!

LC and LJ Boot lids have the same part number, then strange there is two different boot lids as your photos show.

Hi

 

My understanding is that part numbers mean that the parts are interchangeable not necessarily identical. There are other LC LJ part numbers that are the same but not identical - front doors for instance.

i thought someone would know... there are a quite a few cars with incorrect boot lids!!!

Those boot lids are just stamped with a different press. 

 

The one with the extra hole is known as a dual stamped bootlid.......sorry , couldnt resist it.

 

but seriously...gotta wonder why the difference?

Probably the guy punching the hole in question was on holiday, you'll notice they started looking like that during the last week in September, and holes resumed second week in October...
