The LH Workshop Manual would still be relevant to a lot of procedures in LX.

I always tell customers, " do you know how to make a million dollars from restoring old cars,"

Answer: Borrow two million.

The old gregory's service and repair manuals are still by far the easiest to understand and most informative, aside from this forum JMHO.

Couple of great tips there thanks very much. I will look for a Gregory's and no doubt this forum as suggested for info.

I have already been looking at this forum and got a lot of tips. First thing is to get that book and then a rotisserie, Have already decided to stick to a GM v8. Gotta find a HR engine if I can

Next search here will be for advice on tig v mig for a novice.

Thanks again

Is there a v8 version of Gregory's manual? I can only find a 6 cya version. Should be largely the same?

Just wondering why u dislike the max Ellery manual? It was like my Bible for years. Can't say I noticed anything wrong in the bits I used it for. And it covers v8

I use a range of books, LH service manual, parts manual, Gregories manual, Max Ellerys manual. To me it can't hurt to have them all. Oh and as you have discovered the guys here on this forum are probably better than all these books combined! Photograph everything and if in doubt try and look at another car for reference...

The parts manual, available on CD, give great pictures of assemblies exploded views etc...
The Gregory's LH/LX and any of the V8 manuals are helpful.
Any mods or repair hints search or post on this site.
