Hi All,
I've been dismantling a 304 VS black motor and found "Crane" cast on the camshaft.
Did GMH use crane as a cam supplier for these engines or should i assume its had an aftermarket
cam installed ?

It does have markings on the back 951985 , Measured the lift at .258" x 1.6 = .413 valve lift.
That's not very high which makes me believe very stock.

The original cam that came out of my car when the track pack was fitted has no markings on it at all.

I found this in a repair manual. Looks like a stock cam. 0.258" x 25.4 = 6.553mm
In the pic from the manual the outlet lobes have slightly more lift than the inlet. that would be worth checking.

I would say it was a replacement cam for the original but slighty off standard. Like a tow cam.
