Yeah I just don't get the whole pay big dollars for a number plate thing just so someone can steal it.

In the UAE, all sheiks can buy a hyper car but what seperates them apart from each other is the number plate, less digits the more expensive and higher up the totum poll you are which opens up opportunities and connections to become even more rich.
Number 5 sold for AED $33 million in Dubai, that's $12 million in AUD.

I believe, in NSW at least, that the no. 1 plate is reserved for the Governor or Premier, so therefore not for sale.
The previous record I think was for the no. 2 plate which sold for round $600,000.

Wow haven't seen that plate around for a long time, It belonged to a mates old man. He had it on his Rolls Royce in the seventies driving it around Kellyville NSW.
