I can't find a suitable Grommet to put in the Hole in the Firewall where the Clutch Cable used to pass through for my Hatch 'Auto Conversion'. What have others used or what does an 'Original Standard Auto Trans Body" use?

An o ring and a nut and bolt?
Silicon and a 20cent piece?
Surly can't be that hard to seal a hole up?

Take out the plate and have the hole welded up. Or Clark rubber maybe. If memory serves me right it is a oval hole so not sure how well any round grommet will fit.
Or get some flat 3mm rubber cut 2x ovals and glue them each side with some loctite 406. Effetivly making your own grommet.

Cut a piece of metal larger than the hole, stick it over the hole with Sikaflex 229, clean up excess Sika and paint as normal when Sikaflex has set.
